Beijing China has created a mile stone after several changes in Beijing for Olympic 2008. They made several changes starting from Olympic venues to the transport till the hospitality system.
Starting with Olympic Venue. They have created some of the greatest structure in the history of civil engineering. Bird nest is one of them what they have created.
Beijing is one of the busiest cities when it comes to traffic, They have changed the entire system to support the game lovers, they ensure that game lovers will not have any problem reaching the Olympic venue, Beijing's subway system underwent a major expansion which increased its capacity to more than twice its previous size. Earlier this subway system had only 4 lanes and 64 stations, but after the renovation subway system have 11 lines with 144 stations.
Not only the subway system, the entire transportation changed. They have created some High Speed lanes from airport to the Venue, without any obstacle.
Beijing set designate 38 official public transit routes that will link the Olympic venues. 2,500 large-size buses and 4,500 minibuses will be operated by a total of 8,000 drivers to transport people across various venues. Public transport will be optimized in order to reduce the existing 110 overlapping routes.
These are just few details that I’ve provided for the time being, I’m very excited for the games to being, mainly the opening ceremony. China (Beijing) really deserve to be the host of 2008 Olympic games.
