I was looking for iPhone before Apple launched the iPhone 2.0, iPhone 3G.
I wanted to get one from US and use it here. But after the launch of latest iPhone, and when the declaration made that iPhone will be official in India. I was quite happy about that I would be a proud owner of latest Apple iPhone. But due to the very heavy price launch I had to say good bye to iPhone till the time Apple thinks to cut the price.
I found out some reason not to go for iPhone at this kind of price level…
I’m never against the product; it’s a great product to hold in hands, where at a glance you are getting all that you may look for. It’s a great phone, it’s cool 16 Gig iPod, it’s a cool GPS device, cool camera, and lots more…
1. For me the 1st thing I would consider before looking at iPhone is the price, why there is a huge jump in price in India? Apple is selling the iPhone at max $299 in US and why we have to pay more then double the amount to get it here? Do we have enough of money to pay Apple this way? Or Apple thinks that this is one of the best cellular markets where they can make more money?
2. I don’t think this would be a wise move to go for an iPhone at 31k (min) where other country gets it for 8500 (min) I think Apple should reconsider the market price of iPhone in India….
3. Along with the time when Apple will realize that they are into a huge loss from the expected ROI they will cut the price in India. I don’t want to call my self “I GOT IT BEFORE YOU” guy and pay huge extra amount,
4. I will loose my number or I have to retain 2 number where again Apple is not getting anything but yes Vodafone or Airtel will gain another consumer to top up the business, Can’t we get our old number converted to the contract? Apple will loose a lot like me for this reason.
5. Well iPhone 3G comes with Vodafone or Airtel mobile service provider right? But does either of them have this 3G added with the service they provide? I think in coming many India has to stay without the 3G service which Apple has designed for iPhone users… none of my reason are against iPhone it’s all about Apple marketing and launching its brand new revolutionary product in India. Well I don’t have much to say about it because I think I don’t posses that much knowledge to do so. But being a prospective buyer of Apple iPhone, I must say Apple has certainly lost one customer and will loose many more like me.
If any one has given a look over the product sell rate of iPhone, In India every month more then million people take new mobile connection where Apple could only manage to sell few thousands of iPhone, where according to my understanding Apple could have done much more than that. I think at the day of launch if they would have come up with the same price what they have in US and other country then they would have needed more people to felicitate the long queue.
For the service provider it’s all and the same thing but the thing is Apple is making a fun out of them for sure.

Modern Panchtantra Story - By Sourav Ganguly
Once upon a time, there was a software engineer who used to develop programs on his Pentium machine, sitting under a tree on the banks of a river. He used to earn his bread by selling those programs in the Sunday market.
One day, while he was working, his machine tumbled off the table and fell in the river. Encouraged by the Panchatantra story of his childhood (the woodcutter and the axe),
He started praying to the River Goddess. The River Goddess wanted to test him and so appeared only after one month of rigorous prayers. The engineer told her that he had lost his computer in the river.
As usual, the Goddess wanted to test his honesty. She showed him a match box and asked, "Is this your computer ?" Disappointed by the Goddess' lack of computer awareness, the engineer replied, "No."
She next showed him a pocket-sized calculator and asked if that was his. Annoyed, the engineer said "No, not at all!!"
Finally, she came up with his own Pentium machine and asked if it was his. The engineer, left with no option, sighed and said "Yes."

Want to go back to memory lane – Question is Can I ?
Sometime I really work with myself to solve some questions. But as me, I always end up getting nothing. I asked Sourav Ganguly (my self) why I’m like this. When I know I have nothing to loose then why can’t I go for everything. Do I really have something to loose. Or it’s the feeling that I will loose something which is mine (according to my absent minded though). However I think that I should work on my own mind restructuring once again. Will this be the solution of my problems? Still I’m not sure.
Sometime I act very confusing as I’m now. But some how I’m finding myself is talking me now while I’m drafting this blog post. I want to say Sourav don’t do which you can do for ever, you are able to take up things now as you have a hot blood, but what if you become cold blooded. Will you be able to endure? Sourav Ganguly thinks that he will be where the answer is BIG NO…
Sometime we don’t have the control over our doings. But at the later stage of life we realize that those did were not correct. Then we pay the penalty to life. Life has every thing stored for us in its hard drive; the best part is it doesn’t crash ever. It will be there till the time life wants it to be there.

It was a blasting weekend all together
Here is Sourav Ganguly’s weekend update….
I know my weekend update posts are more of a similar kind. But some how I think I do describe my weekends in a well manner way… this time my weekend took a bit slowly start, as things were not moving as is desired.
However I took that and decided not to crib on that, I started doing my house work, as it was pending from a long time. So, I spend some time at kitchen while listing to music. Then one call made me move out of my home stuff & move.
As this weekend I again missed my SEO class. So got good time to spend with my people (I think so), went for a movie, I don’t want to write anything about the movie as it was all bullshit. Some we dragged ourselves till the end of the movie. Then we took another step to make ourselves out of the tragic movie, so we all went to amusement park, some how it was good, we took some ride and it was all shattering.
Sunday was Janmasthami, Lord Krishna’s Birthday, Both of us went to ISCON and spent some time with God; it was full of mob some how I think that on these days people become all the more devotee. So they had to make the way to God as early as they could, I think they have a limited time for God, we stood in the line for some time then we made ourselves inside the temple. Now the entire game starts, even the priest were also having fun seeing the mob coming towards the God not to see and pray but to get some garlands & Prasad. People were so much into that they even didn’t realize or may be realized but failed to react that those garlands were beneath our feats. Some how we took our part and came out of the temple, but one thing made me happy that my purpose was done, I wanted to give her a place from where she can worship lord and some how I got success in that.
From there we went to CP and had some time in CCD. But some how it’s was all the new… as if I’m there for the 1st time with no one around me. We ordered some sandwich and coffee, we had it and from there I had a plan to get myself a couple of new games DVD which I failed to materialize. Then again back to home. Wanted to have some food so started making it, it was lovely to have rice and dal after such a long time.
Around 5:30 PM we again started our way to Noida where we decided to make our materialized turn true, so another visit to the state of the art amusement park and had a lods of fun there. Here is a small video about it… it was all the more fun there, but some how I think there could be a bit more with that, when we are together but yet far “all the best to us” for what ever we are doing. Lets hope this bring happiness to us.

Unconditional Love - Sourav's Chitchat
As Promised I will have something new for you guys on every thursday as Sourav Ganguly's Chitchat... So, Here is the doze for this Thursday...:
Some time ago, a friend of mine punished his 4 year old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the small child tried to decorate a box to put under the tree. Nevertheless the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said "This is for you Daddy."
He was embarrassed by his earlier over reaction... He opened the box and his anger flared again when he found the box was empty.
Then he yelled at her:
DON'T YOU KNOW when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something inside of it???
The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said,
Oh Daddy it's not empty, I blew kisses into the box, all for you Daddy.
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged her for forgiveness. My friend told me that he kept that gold box near his bed for years.
Whenever he was discouraged he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there. In a very real sense each of us has been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses.
There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.

Bravo Sushil Kumar – India got another medal in Olympic 2008
I would say this year India is doing well in Olympic; we have another medal in our pocket, and got another reason to cheer for our Olympic players.
He drove his way to bronze medal after beating Kazakhstan's wrestler in a play-off in the men's 66 kg freestyle wrestling at the Beijing Olympics.
Sushil lost ion the first round to Ukraine’s Andriy Stadnik in the men's 66 kg freestyle event.
Stadnik took the game well as he managed to get the 1st point but Sushil leveled it soon but the tough Ukrainian took the lead again as he led the first round 2-1. At the end of the game Sushil own the game with a huge lead of 4-15. Soruav Ganguly cheers for Sushil Kumar & wishes him all the best in future games as well… By the way I’m cheering for all Indian Olympic players. All should give us something.

Search Engine Marketing with 2nd tier Search Engines
You being an online advertiser, you are always concentrated towards 1st tier search engines. I.E. Google, Yahoo Search Marketing, MSN adCenter
Marjory most of us does the online pay for click campaigns that way, the real challenge comes when we move to 2nd tier Search engines. My (Sourav Ganguly) personal experience it’s very tough to work only with 2nd tier Search Engines when you always dream to work with some cool tool like Google editor or you have some API developed for other Search Engine. I have an experience of working with Google, YMS! & MSN over 3 years and now I’m also in the same boat. The current industry of mine doesn’t support to go to all 1st tier Search Engines.
2nd Tier also includes search engines such as SearchFeed, Enhance, Kanoodle, 7Search, PageSeeker, Search123, and so on. While all of them combined represent less user traffic that Google AdWords alone, you will find that you can actually get very decent positions on a lot of them without spending lot money.
While comparing the same with the quality of the traffic I gate in compare to Google only it’s like 1:10. for example if Google gives a conversion rate of 5% in these search engines you can expect 1%- 2% then again it also depends on what you are promoting.
But one good thing about the 2nd tier is the CPC you pay. It ultimately helps you to keep a hold over your ROI. If you are paying less for clicks then you can afford to have more clicks without sale.
But when it comes to clicks what I have observed that in these engines you get a lods of fraud clicks, you can’t even think of having so many clicks without making any sales when you have the industry best of even higher promotion of your product. I have seen who ate my all daily budget without any sale or even at the very 1st hour of the day. I left with nothing other than waiting for another day to begin and next day same story repeats.
So, over all it’s a very bad situation to work only with 2nd tier search engine. My Personal experience is to try with some engine, but make sure to tweak your ad text now and then and see what performance.

The market share of visits to Google in July increased 25% over July 2007 and has grown each month since January in 2008. Retention of this increased traffic is also coming into play as Google has maintained a consistent returning visitor rate (visitors who have visited the website within a 30 day period) of 95% each month since October 2007

Last week of July 2008 Google has reached a new level 70.77% of all U.S. searches. Google searches made a boost of around 10% last year July, and around 2% growth over last month. Yahoo! Search, MSN (which includes live.com) & ask.com got 18.65%, 5.36%, and 3.53% share of searches, respectively.

India has been the true winner of all culture. From the San Gabriel to British. India has always proved that she has the power to make herself free from every power... with some Great Indians like Gandhiji (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi), Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subash Bose, Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar and many more to name.
after the World War II, In 1946, Lord Mountbatten arrived in Delhi amid a buzz of political activity. there were too many emotional ties – the British and the Indians went too far back together for the British to just pack up and leave. Mountbatten was entrusted with the responsibility of transferring power to the Indians, safeguarding British interests and prestige for future interaction with independent India and Pakistan. and in the bargain, if Partition was inevitable, the nations would have to live with the realization and the consequences.

Abhinav Bindra's Shooting Gold Medal Will Make A Path For Future Players Of Olympic
Abhinav Bindra's Shooting Gold Medal in Olympic 2008 is one of it's kind. I don't think any one from India have ever thought of something like this.... Well done Abhinav Bindra... 3 Cheers for you...
This will turned Abhinav Bindra an icon within a blink of an eye. Though he has been very consistent through out the game. Young generation will be a fan of this young individual gold winner. Last time we managed to see this kind of great day for Indian History was in 1980 when Indian Hockey Team won Gold.
We all know that India is the crazy about cricket, where every kid wants to be a cricketer like Sachin, Sourav, Dhoni… But guys like Abhinav Bindra sets a example that if some one has the sprit of winning a sport then cricket is not the only platform to perform.
Once again 3 cheers to you Bindra for grabbing the gold medal in the 10m air rifle event today…

Another Blasting Weekend
It was like a never before weekend. I had came across a lods of new stuff around me, My SEO class was not that interesting tough. But other then that It was a busy weekend.
We all went to See Sing is Kinng on saturday, and some other usual stuff. After movie it was like a whole of sleeping,
Nothing much I could write about this weekend... Lets see what's up next, though I'm not expecting much from the coming weekend. As I have nothing much to do. No class as it will be Independence day on Friday followed by Raksha Bandhan on Saturday. I would love to make my way to office both the days. As PS2 will not be enough of company to drag me throughout the weekend.

2008 Beijing Olympic - Starts In Few Hours From Now
Beijing China has created a mile stone after several changes in Beijing for Olympic 2008. They made several changes starting from Olympic venues to the transport till the hospitality system.
Starting with Olympic Venue. They have created some of the greatest structure in the history of civil engineering. Bird nest is one of them what they have created.
Beijing is one of the busiest cities when it comes to traffic, They have changed the entire system to support the game lovers, they ensure that game lovers will not have any problem reaching the Olympic venue, Beijing's subway system underwent a major expansion which increased its capacity to more than twice its previous size. Earlier this subway system had only 4 lanes and 64 stations, but after the renovation subway system have 11 lines with 144 stations.
Not only the subway system, the entire transportation changed. They have created some High Speed lanes from airport to the Venue, without any obstacle.
Beijing set designate 38 official public transit routes that will link the Olympic venues. 2,500 large-size buses and 4,500 minibuses will be operated by a total of 8,000 drivers to transport people across various venues. Public transport will be optimized in order to reduce the existing 110 overlapping routes.
These are just few details that I’ve provided for the time being, I’m very excited for the games to being, mainly the opening ceremony. China (Beijing) really deserve to be the host of 2008 Olympic games.

Qi Qiao Jie - the seventh eve - Chinese Valentine's Day
Well it’s very unusual time for anyone to think about valentine at the middle of the year, where today China is celebrating Qi Qiao Jie (valentine day), this is not like any other valentine day for China it’s just 24 hrs before the big day for china. Olympic counter can be moved to minute.
China has proven that they are the brightest & the best host for Olympic Games 2008. Well coming back to the valentine part, this day is dedicated for the lovers all around the globe. There are several charming customs associated with this romantic day for lovers.
Chinese Valentine day is basically moves around two legends. Both involve the position of the stars on the seventh day of the seventh month in the Chinese lunar calendar (August 7th in the year 2008).

Life was very lazy last two days
It was all about height of being lazy, neither the mind nor the body wanted to anything. In fact I had to push myself to get something done.
Don't know and don't want to know what was the reason worked within me, actually I'm finding it much more relief by not asking myself, but some how deep inside my heart I really want to know. I had done nothing other than passing time for nothing. I could have utilized the time in very different way.
I could have done something for my home, may be something for myself, but somehow noting happened. I wish I could go back in time and clear some of the lines what life has already scrabbled. I want to see myself happy or may be my thoughts. But due to the current circumstances I’m not able to do so.
In short life has added nothing in past two days. Today while I’m in office and writing this post, I don’t know there is something inside me is going on, I really failed to give it a name, is it a desire which is not coming out to be true, may be a dream which I’d dreamed off but somehow not seems to be realizing, or could be my unclear thinking which is not reaching it’s level where it should be. Could be anything, but somehow I’ll not push this to come out.
I have changed a lot in past few days. Life has showed me some thing which I never wanted to see. But somehow it’s a part of life and I have to cross this phase of life. Wishing myself all the best. Work is getting more and tougher. Being a manager I started taking the strain but sometime I also need someone with whom I want to be a kid, kid of life, kid of stupidity, I have someone with whom I never felt anything bad, I went crazy with her, I’m a kid, but somehow she is not always around me when I want to say, and thinking can’t be a slave of the time, right? Why things are so different today?
I want to go back and ask why?

Brilliant & Lovely Evening
There is something you will always don’t want from life, at least me. But somehow I don’t know why I always had to face all these?
It was a lovely evening; all together yesterdays evening had showed me a lods of thing. All the way straight into my heart. No other connection was required. Nothing I could right about it, I understood one thing say what ever you have to say, before it’s too late to explain. If we are able to do so then trust me we will be happier.
Nothing more I could write today, as nothing is coming in mind. All blank. I really need a gateway to a lonely place. I know it’s more of a rabbit style, who put head into a hole and close eyes and think that no one is able to see. But still every rabbit has the right to do so. Isn’t?

Social Media Marketing vs. Social Media Optimization
Social Media Marketing (SMM) and Social Media Optimization (SMO) are two new phrases that popped up to define online marketing through social media and social networking websites.
Even some great experience holding internet marketers seems to be a lot of confusion between the two. But personally I see them as two different emerging marketing techniques.
I'm not trying to point fingers at anyone though; even I find my self making the same mistakes. In my opinion creating something new is more about marketing than it is optimization.
SMO refers to the process of refining a website (optimizing it) so that its awareness and content are easily spread through social mediums and online communities by users and visitors of the website. We all have made our self familiar with some icons like digg, stumble upon, del.icio.us, and many more.
SMM on the other hand plays more of an active role in relation to social media by referring to the creation and distribution of content and other messages through the social web platforms like face book, my space, hi5 and many more by some form of viral marketing. You tube is one of the great ways of viral marketing in today’s web world.
I think we all also know about Push & Pull marketing techniques, I know a little of the same. So, please correct me if I’m juggling up some other stuff with this.
In a way with Social Media Marketing you are pushing your message to the people, but the moment you stop pushing your message, it should move on it’s on. This helps me to think about viral marketing.
A true viral marketing campaign is so good that it spreads on its own, and people will take the responsibility to make it a success on your behalf.

After Google My Weekend Update
I had a mixed emotion weekend. I had fun, with some serious discussion, I think that helped us to clear certain stuff which was there inside us,
Sunday as it was friendship day but we never thought of doing anything special... we did all the very regular things... SEO class very boring.. Then Yummmy food,,, All Indian food with a lods of Oil and spice in it.
Then 2nd round of meet with her in evening, did some shopping for me but the intention was to do it for her, but i forgot before entering the shop that I'm going to shop with her, and she is all the more happy to get something for me. She always does that..
That's all from me for weekend.. It was good looking for much more out of life...

Then 2nd round of meet with her in evening, did some shopping for me but the intention was to do it for her, but i forgot before entering the shop that I'm going to shop with her, and she is all the more happy to get something for me. She always does that..

Google PR Update July 28 2008
For last 2/3 weeks webmasters were restlessly waiting for next Google PageRank (PR). All anxiety came to an end when Matt Cutts announced PageRank revise on 24th July, 2008.
I should confess I was a fan of Google PR before I started working on SEO. But as days progressed, I realized that there is a bit of relation between high Page Rank and SERP position. I consider Page Rank as good for entertaining purpose only. But I always wait for Page Rank Update to see the changes in back links.
We all will be happy to see some improvement on Google Toolbar showing more Page Rank for some of your favorite pages, but that will not revise any of your search presence on SERP. This will built up gradually along with the time. SERP has a very less support from Page Rank.
I’m in process to get my 1st SEO project up. This is going to be a real fun for me to work with some SEO people who are in the industry for a long time, it’s really lovely that they are also taking my suggestions and helping me where ever I’m stuck.

Friday Fuzz
Well nothing much to match with the title of the post. It was all and the same old story, The biggest sizzle of the was the solar eclipse, which i could capture with my camera.
I loved it very much, It's a lovely play of Sun & Moon,,
Returned home after uploading the video to you tube.. and it was my 1st you tube upload. I got a good response from the visitors..
I hope this will make me going for something unusual. Well I don't want to block some you tube space with daily unhealthy video. If there is really something which can attract people and give them a satisfaction of spending their time watching my video positively would go live.

Solar Eclipse 2008 - Lovely Hide N' Seek Sun & Moon
Solar Eclipse: When the moon is directly between the sun and the earth, and the moon's shadow is cast upon the earth.
This is what we know when it happen...
The solar eclipse that takes place on August 1, 2008 will be a total eclipse of the Sun with a magnitude of 1.039 that will be visible from a narrow corridor through northern Canada (Nunavut), Greenland, central Russia, eastern Kazakhstan, western Mongolia and China.
But have any one of us given a thought that this is a nice Hide N Seek between Sun & Moon....
A partial eclipse will be seen from the much broader path of the Moon's penumbra, including eastern North America and most of Europe and Asia.
Enjoy this and comment is all I need...
